Maybe someone needed to fill out a free entry, so they sent in the best coin they had?

It's possible someone just had a collection of JFK halves and just decided to get them all slabbed. I think if you list for 99 cents with 1.99 shipping...you'll get 1 bid. Ship it in an envelope, it'll be "a dollar something." After your shipping costs and fees maybe you'll make 80 cents to ship a 50 cent coin.

hesgut, The way everyone on ebay ships coins on ebay is First Class Package with delivery confirmation. That costs $2.51. ebay's cut is around 15% (with paypal included), and that is out of the total price of $2.98, not 99 cents. So out of the $2.98 ebay will take 45 cents, leaving you with $2.53 cents. That means you just sold a 50 cent piece for 2 cents! Add in the cost of packaging and you lose money! I'm getting ready to start selling on ebay, so I've been very conscious lately of how much you money you think you are making vs. how much you actually are.

crack and spend. Do you really want to risk getting feedback from the person that would buy that?

I bet they thought it was a variety of sorts. Probably a DDO or a DDR but PCGS didn't agree. That is the only explantion I can come up with for this slabbed coins. I agree with Saruma. The best you could do is list it on ebay $5.00 free shipping only to make out with a buck or two.
