OK, I am a complete and utter idiot. I was 2 coins from completing my proof Ike Dansco album. The 74 in MS and the 74 40% BU coin. I ordered them from Scanlon coins on ebay (EXCELLENT seller, I recommend him highly) and was expecting them today. I got home from work and checked the mail, and there they were! I came in, cut the envelope and what do I have? A very nice 74 coin still in cello and an absolutely stunning 74 silver PROOF. I have one of those darn it. Check the order...yep, I ordered the wrong coin!  I put that proof in an airtight, gave it to my wife and began cussing my brains out. AAAAAARRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH I cant believe I did that. So one blasted coin left to go. |

At least "you" did it from the comfort of your own home at the computer desk ! " I " travelled to ANOTHER CITY JUST TO GO TO THE COIN SHOP THERE, and bought several "wrong" coins that I already have. When I got home to put them in the Dansco.....    Edited by eaglefoot

If it makes you feel better, I once mistakenly put a 1976 Variety I Eisenhower dollar in the 1976-D Variety I hole. It was there for a while before I realized it.  Maybe this is a sign. Time to upgrade the 7176 album to an 8176?  |

Jbuck, it IS an 8176. I already had the proof. So, I checked Scanlons store, and sure enough, no 74 silver BU. again. After plowing through about 1000 adds for proofs, I found a dealer with a good rating that has them. So now I am off to order one. We shall see. |
