A little rim chew, some light spots, light device nicks and overall darkness on the obverse. The reverse is 65 material for sure, but I think they probably knocked it down.

BadThad MS-64RB

NICE COIN!

Thank you for the compliment. I have been picking up some nice graded examples this past week, for, what I think are great prices. I have found that it is easier to just switch to purchasing slabbed coins from ebay. With all the deceptive practices sellers use now a days with tricky photography, I find it best this way.

I like the dot between the 2 & 7. Lint or a real dot?

This just goes to show you how NGC can be all over the board with their grading...

I think we can all agree the reverse carried this one.

That's one fantastic reverse. If the front looked like the back you would have had a 66 or 67, in my opinion.

I scored this coin for $25. Took a gamble on poor pictures and a crummy item description. He had it originally listed for $40, I offered $25 and the seller accepted. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase!

Though the NGC fatty slabs and PCGS' old green holders and rattlers represented a time of supposed stricter grading, I don't believe this coin would come even close to a 65 by today's standards.
