The wife and I went out yesterday doing bank runs and the like. While we were dumping halves at a TD, she mentioned there was a coin store we had heard about right down the street. OK, lets go! Turns out to be an antiques permanent flea market kind of thing. The guy who owns the "shop" has a space in the basement. Well, its a good thing we hit the run of silver we did searching halves, because this guy has a great shop! Nice stuff for reasonable prices. We picked up a bunch of stuff for our books. My Ike Dansco is now only short two coins (I am waiting for them to get here from an excellent ebay seller), she got her 21D and now her Merc book is short only that one coin, 16D. I grabed a 39D rev 40 nickel, a 50D and several very nice War Nickels, plus assorted quarters and a beautiful red 38D LMC. The color does NOT translate in these pics. Much nicer. The wife also picked up a 1 and a 10 dollar North Africa note in lower grade but affordable and nice. It was a great day riding the bike and spending time with the wife. Gotta love those days. Not everything, but some of the haul. Edited by smokeriderdon 10/16/2011 12:31 pm

Shaft, it IS beautiful. Drawback is that it has a couple very small black spots on the reverse. Which is why I paid less than 10 for it. Gotta get some verdis care and give it a little bath and make sure they dont grow.
rachums, those two were upgrades from what I have in my Dansco. I am going to save them though. This Dansco is not a proof book. So I am going to hold onto the nice ones like this I get good deals on until I finish out the circulated book. I like to have AU and higher in the proof books. Lower grades next to proofs just looks bad.

Wow that penny is stunning and it just glows! Nice shape for those nickles too. I'd be happy with them.

Great looking coins, smokeriderdon. If I win your auction of halves you'll be able to go buy some more. :P

I cancelled one of my afternoon appointments to spend the day with the hubby. And you forgot to mention the Gene Autry framed coloring book I got for my dad's 77th birthday. The coin shop had a lot of really nice antique stuff. Really cool place. I wish we had found it a long time ago.

Jbuck, oh believe me, I will be putting up pics of every page of the album. It will be my first Dansco I have completed.
Sooner, considering I forgot to put the word silver in the title, you have a good chance of winning it.
