I have all my sets of coins in mylar flips in plastic binder sleeves with the obverse in front. Just starting the state national park quarters and thought about putting the reverse in front. Looking for opinions.

Thanks Rainman

I have my Statehood Quarter set and the ATB Quarters(so far) in albums showing the reverse when they are opened. I don't know numbers, but I would guess many are showing the reverse 1st. Have you considered using albums? My albums are like books on a shelf.

Thanks for the input I have to agree the reverse makes them different. Never liked albums some have key dates and proofs that cant afford (dont like holes)

Thanks Rainman
Rest in Peace

I started to put mine in 2X2's -- the right way. LOL But I never finished. I will restart the project with the obverse in front.

I guess I just put them in the same way I always do -- just out of habit. But it really makes much better sense to do it the other way.

Thanks for bringing up the topic...honestly ... I just never thought of doing anything so logical!

With 2x2 flips, the state and park quarters are much more attractive with the reverse up. I have 2 PDSS Dansco State Quarter albums, and since there are four coins per state, the sequence is OOOR. I plan to do the same with the parks. But the display method is whatever you like best or feels right to you.

This is a series where the reverse is the subject of the series, not of the coins as group.

For this reason, I would think most folks who collect these would choose the display the reverses to best illustrate the series.

Personally, I have been a type collector for all of my life. Reverses vary more than obverses, so I show reverses first, irrespective of whether the coins themselves are in medal alignment or in coin alignment.

After reading your replies I think it makes sense to display the reverse. Now I'm scratching my head about changeling my westward Nicklès, native dollars, Lincoln anniversary cent, territorial quarters. State Quarters can stey the way they are.
Thanks for the input.

My OCD needs the date depicted on the front so I can see they are organized.

All mine are in Albums and the reverses are the ones in front. Only way I could figure out which is which.
I did the same with the so called Westward Journey Nickels. All are Obverse in my Albums except those and then those are Reverses in front.

Look at it this way, in the early drafts of the State Quarter legislation the state side was designated as the obverse and Washingtons portrait was the reverse. So by that you are still mounting them obverse forward when you show the states.

Same here. Well, I have not started my ATB album yet, but it will be the same.

I have my ATB's reverse up (obviously since they are in a folder). When I have enough of them, I'll transfer them to an album, but I'll still have the reverses up.
