Is this some sort of Die Deterioration Doubling? Is it possible double-struck in collar?

This is strange... I'd like to see the experts opinions on this. I'm keeping my eye on this one.
Rest in Peace

Yep, something happened there. Jefferson doesn't have a double chin in his portrait.

It appears to have been struck twice, but I will wait to hear from the experts.

By the way, I really appreaciate all the experts! Thanks guys.

It's a rather unusual manifestation of Die Deterioration.

That's a little disappointing. I've seen lots of deteriorated dies, but very few that look like this with raised plateaus around the devices. I guess I'll throw it in the "misc. interesting nickels" tube.
