What do you think? And what's going on with the mint mark?

Every time I see a listing from jeffrose I have to see it. Another beautiful coin and the S looks like the die was filled before the strike. Thanks again for showing us another one of your coins.

Nice coin looks like you have a misplaced 8 in denticles and a mint mark with a filled die.

I cant tell if there is too much wear but its a high grade coin so I would say its AU-58 and up. Hard to tell from pictures. You have a VERY NICE coin collection.

Another beautiful coin! Not sure about the mintmark but my guess would be a filled die.

If that was PMD the damage would be scratched or impressed INTO the coin, not raised up above the surface of the field, as seen here.

It could be a filled die in the area of the mint mark, BUT I am just wondering IF the mint mark was deliberately or maybe accidently or inadvertantly interfered with by the Mint? That area looks to me as if it was tooled by a mint official.

My problem is: if that is the case, 'WHY?'. Further on from this, again, if that is in fact the case, we do indeed have an interesting variety here.
Rest in Peace

I don't see any wear at all on that coin. It looks like BU details, but the surfaces don't look right...maybe improper cleaning based on the picture. I guess it really depends on the luster.

I do think that there is a MPD in the denticles below the 8, however from what I know about these coins it does not add to the value as there are more of these coins with MPDs than not.

Nice looking coin with above-average eye appeal. I think I see light wear on the high points and some friction traces in the fields. There are light hairlines but nothing severe enough to qualify as a problem. I'm not bothered by the color; it could be accurate and still original, or perhaps the camera is affecting the tint (happens all the time with my photos!).

There are repunched mintmark varieties for this date and a filled die is certainly possible. I don't think this one has been altered or damaged significantly.

Looks solid for AU-55 and possible for AU-58, but not MS in my opinion.
