Just bought this little piece today from a token dealer. He didn't know much about it, I at least had heard of Fort Sumter so thought It was worth a go. Only one I have found online is a fake that was at auction and didn't sell. This one seems legitimate, as pulled it out of a huge pile of 19th/early 20th century pieces. Don't have it in hand but will follow up with exact weight / diameter asap.

If anyone has any further knowledge on this (approx age, scarcity, a little history, value etc) that would be great!

What's on the other side?

And I would suspect that if the one that was listed at auction was a fake there is a good chance yours is as well. It probably isn't a fake in the sense of a counterfeit as much as it is in the sense that it is a fantasy.

No idea about this piece, but you could try posting it in the Tokens, Medals, and Exonumia section of CCF. It might get more exposure there.

I'll try it in the tokens, thanks. Good thought on the fantasy piece - that might explain it. I'll see if the token forum comes up with anything concrete.Thanks.
