Hi, I was just wondering if any one has seen markings like this on any other coins. As you can see good is grinded off and an "H" is stamped in its place and on the reverse a "R" is stamped. This is the first time I have seen this and I cant find any other accounts of this.

Thank you
Ron

I've seen stamp marks added but this is the first time I have seen a coin that had words ground off in order to place a stamp mark there. I know that some organizations (masons) have stamped coins but with just the two initials....probably just somebody messing around in metal shop and probably way back when the coin was still relatively new and only worth 50 cents.
