Then I saw what 67 s mint coins would cost ($4000 give or take a few hundred). I made a new plan. I have 12 of the short set so far. One 67 plus, 6 67's and 5 66plus. All have the green bean. I should be getting another 67 plus, 2 more 67s and 5 66 plus tough coins. The tuff part is not upgrading some 67s to 67 plus. My goal is a high registry set. The problem is I'm also working on a raw full set in as close to AU as I can afford. Report this Post to the Staff

tpg22 Pillar of the Community United States 919 Posts	Posted 09/29/2013 4:02 pm MS66 would not be too bad. It depends if you want the best MS66's or just any MS66. You will pay more for Full Strike with good left thumb, full head, nice eagles feathers, and blast white examples. You will find the MS66 grades all over the place. Only when you get to 41S, 42S, 43S, 44S, and 45S will you get more expensive coins in that grade. It is 20 coins in all. PCGS price guides would be a start. Many are much cheaper in NGC. For example a 1945D MS67 is $1250 in PCGS and only $910 in NGC. Report this Post to the Staff

I too started with MS66 and then I started seeing the differences. MS66 coins are not a ton of money and if you search and wait you can get very good deals on those. There are many that have been graded MS66. As with all coins some look nicer then others. I would say for nice looking coins you could get many for around $180-$200. Some people here probably get them even cheaper on ebay, but I don't buy from there. The S minted coins will run more. Some of those could be $400-700. Report this Post to the Staff
