I don't know much about this series but looking at the two coins you posted, I honestly don't see much difference in wear, really just in toning. Is that the "upgrade" you are referring to, meaning you prefer the untoned to the toned? Just trying to understand your collecting preferences/strategy.

There's definitely a difference in wear. For instance, take a look at the knee, shield and forepart of the eagle's wings.
