Oh and I gotta say thanks, darth, I emulated your picture setup and now my pictures on my iPhone are excellent (that picture was from my ipad)

Glad this helped you out. Those new pictures really show the progression well. Did the shop attach any sort of premium to the toning? It sure deserves it, IMO. I'm saving your pictures for reference.

@Cruisinfusion - excellent Morgans! That 1885-O is speaking to me.

I love her Darth! I think that rim toning like that is really under appreciated. Most people think its kinda ugly but I can't get enough of it.

Edit: but gosh, those rainbow toners are really beautiful too guys. Next show I go to I'm definitely going to try to pick one or two up.

I know nothing about anything about coins outside of the US, but they sure are pretty.

Filled another empty spot and got this 1894 O for $45. Good deal?

I understand that the 1894 is known for weak strikes - seller had this listed as XF/AU - looking at the reverse would this coin even qualify as XF/EF?

In regards to the toned Morgan above, how long does it take to transition through the terminal stages and how does that occur?

I wonder if 20 years from now toned Morgans will still fetch a premium over their silver looking brothers and sisters. Is it a fad? Common Morgans with pretty toning are still common Morgans. They have uncommon toning that's for sure.

Bad things happen when I visit coin shops. Mostly these will be bullion, and album fillers, with a couple of exceptions, but at $20 per circ. Morgan/Peace, you don't have to twist my arm...total outlay was $700 for everything seen below. This was a new-to-me shop, two huge trays of "junk" to ave. circ Morgans/Peace, owners state they just pull out the keys and semis, the CC's, and anything AU or above, and the rest go in the tray. They don't VAM...Next time I get to go back and look through the 100-150 O-mints for E clash ;)
