Thank you all for the appreciation of my Half Dollar book. Next stop will be an AU58 Stone Mountain, turning out a bit tougher than I thought.

No luck on a satisfactory Stone Mountain today, but I did stumble across what appears to be a lovely 50-cent 1934 Texas at a really good price.

Listed by seller as a BU coin for $120 I did contact the seller for verification and received this encouraging reply:

"Jeff,

I'm not familiar with the buffing lines terminology, but it hasn't been cleaned or we would note it since we have designated it BU. If you are referring to lines from die polishing which would be mint made but no detriment to the coin, that is possible. The coin has not been cleaned, polished, or whizzed after being minted."

And after purchasing I received a note that I could return it if not satisfied.

So, keep our community fingers crossed for me!

Love the Texas half. Been looking for one for a while. Bought a fakey off the bay to fill the hole/need for the time being :)

My first silver coin in change (from Chase Bank) in 5+ years -- 10+ years for a silver quarter. In 30+ years of collecting, this is only my 3rd ever 90% quarter from circulation!

Teller must have wondered why I was so happy when I opened the envelope...

Stopped by Wendy's after going to Chase and picked up a Baconator, paid with a $20 and got this back in my change: 1982-P Jefferson nickel with a misaligned die and Rim Fin...

Definitely NOT found in circulation, but I'm a sucker for LWC proofs in OGH's, especially when they're bargain-priced.

Been away a while. Kept my powder dry on this one. Now I just need to upgrade the rest of the set to match.
