Going through some silver War Nickels and found two that may be mint errors. That's a guess on my part, as I'm not really that familiar with mint error coins. I could use some help from anyone with knowledge of error coins to determine what I have here, if anything.

This first coin is a 1942 P Jefferson nickel.

I'll re-post with the second coin to keep from getting the two confused.

Thanks for your help with this.

This one has been banged up along the rim - damage looks like it could have come from a ball hammer.

Looks like it's been squeezed somehow... PMD definitely though.

Maybe somebody tried hammering this 1942 P nickel into a Lincoln Cent folder?

The observations/comments are appreciated. PMD is consensus, for sure. Thanks to you all.
