Here's a 1942-D quarter that I believe is a DDO. I don't have a lot of experience with errors & die varieties and I'm hoping someone can help confirm it's the real deal. The doubling is most prominent on "LIBERTY" but is also visible on "IN GOD WE TRUST". Grading opinions are also welcome. Here's the best pics I could get:

WOW! That's beautiful! If that isn't a DDO then I don't know what would be! Great example!

I would grade it somewhere between XF45 and AU53.

By the way, probably worth getting slabbed -- if it's in the XF-AU range, it's probably a $1000-$1200 coin. :) VERY NICE!

Oh WOW That is one of the strongest DDOs in the entire Washington quarter series and listed in the CPG as FS-25-1942D-101. I would grade it as AU55, where did you find that little gem at?

I'm a little embarassed to tell this story. I had bought an older set of Washington quarters sight unseen in an album. At the time the price of silver was a lot higher. I had gone through the album & thought I had pulled everything that was worth a lot more than melt. Then I priced the rest as an album & put it in my display case at the antique mall. I based my price on melt+ due to the fact that several of the coins were in nice shape. When the price of silver dropped I pulled the album to free up some space. Yesterday morning I was going through my inventory & decided to take another look at the album. The RedBook listed a few die varities so I checked for those & found this one. The first time I went through the album I referenced a price guide that didn't list varities.
