twylite Please do not get discouraged , But I can not see anything with the angle and size of the photo. (I can not do any better) but for what I can see it looks post Mint. I could vey well be wrong thought. keep asking questions That is how we all learn. So thank you for the oppurtunity to learn

It's damage on the coin. The R got hit by something that distorted it.
