It's a large date but would need better photos to tell if it's a LD/SD

Looks like a normal large date from what I can see. The grime is a little distracting.

Note the 0 in the date. That is what you expect to see on a small over large date.

So how did this coin get minted? Did they switch dies and strike it twice? I'm interested to know....

The Large Date over Small Date is a doubled die, specifically Class III Design Hub Doubling. The die was first impressed with a Small Date hub, annealed, and then impressed the second time with a Large Date hub. This process is also responsible for all the 20th century "overdates" where repunched/re-engraved dates are not possible.
