Over the last year, I've bargain shopped for a few graded War Nickels:

1943D ICG MS67FS - $65
1944D ICG MS67 - $25
1944D NGC MS66FS - $27
1945S NGC MS67 - $51

I'm thinking of unloading them and concentrating on my Walking Liberty set and Liberty nickel set. I'm half way through the Walkers (mostly later years in AU condition).....and I'm missing 5 big coins from the Nickel set in F-VF condition.

I purchased the War Nickels on a whim during the Silver spike....I don't have any plans of collecting the Jefferson nickels. However, I may do a "Short Set" of graded War Nickels....hmmmm.

What would you do?

you are only the custodian of these coins for a finite period of time. you can't take them with you. if you aren't enjoying them and can cover your purchase cost or do a little better, I say pass them on.

I would keep buying those high grade War Nickels and complete yourself a lil set.

Do whatever will make you happiest.

No sense in holding onto coins that you do not find interesting.
No sense in getting rid of coins that you will miss.

It is your collection, so feel free to manage it any way you like.
