I could be wrong since I don't know a lot about the series but I would say XF-40. Although, that pit or ding on the rim and edge of the coin could be considered a problem.

I would definitely say it's a nice gold coin even with the nick on the rim. I wouldn't mind owning one like it and perhaps I will one day if I could ever afford it.

I'm not going to try to grade it, but it's a nice coin!

It certainly has XF details. The color looks off and that may be the images only. If it graded problem-free, it could go as high as 45. The rim ding or the color could land it in a XF Details holder if TPG.

well it has not been cleaned in at least 60 years Fuzz, I know that much. However its nearly a 200 year old coin so to say it has never been cleaned in that time would be foolhardy as in my experience nearly all coins that old where cleaned at some point in one way or another.
As for the color its a bit brighter in the pics then in person.
I was really thinking it was more au50 or possibly au55. But hey so many of you seem to think xf40 or 45 so I may be grading it slightly high. I just dont see any wear on it is all, only nicks and dings.
Thanks for the replies fellas
