Unfortunately it probably has been cleaned, but it's not off center much so it's basically just a typical merc. Grade is perhaps EF-45.
Rest in Peace

I'm no expert but I have come to learn that off-center dimes are very common. I have a bunch of them (mostly recent dates).

As for a grade I will go with at least EF40 because I see it has all the horizontal bands on the reverse.

But I'm a newb...so listen to the experts.

very slightly off center, as you can see at 9 oclock. Not enough to be worth anything more. maybe dipped

Looks dipped from the past, but most AU Mercury dimes I seem have been dipped once or twice.

Properly dipped coins will have luster remain in the field.
Grade: EF-45 for this year.

looks like a misaligned obverse die (the front is 'off center' but the reverse is not). These are common on dimes, and does not add a premium when they are this minor. This also fails to meet the criteria of TPG's for misaligned dies. But you can still sell it on the bay for a little profit.
Rest in Peace

Off centered errors are struck out of the collar so on a dime they will not have the reeding on the edge. I see reeding on this dime so it is not an off centered strike. The obverse is a little uncentered but is a normal strike because all of the design is on the coin. Misaligned dies carry no premium until they are misaligned to the point there is design missing. I just see a normally struck dime here with no errors.

I agree - cleaned or dipped, EF-45 details.
