I've had this in my "collection" for about 30 years. Just uppacking from building a new home and came across it. What can you tell me about it and dose it have any collectors value?

My first thought was rim damage that got pressed onto the coin.Problem is
I do not see damage to the rim. Also it does not look "struck through".
There are some real pro's who will be along later, they will have an answer.

One thing I forgot to point out is that the line is raised and the copper flowed up in to the crack of the die? Maybe that goes without saying to the people on this fourm, but thought I would mention it. Thanks

Gut instinct says PMD. A thin strip of copper was sheared from the rim as DrDon says. Wear obliterated the evidence on the rim.

Wait for coppercoins or coop or Mike to give their opinions.

This makes it look worse. It looks like a glob but it's not. It's a nice even flow of copper.
