I am referring to off center stamping. I will try again to post a pic. no luck on the pic. tells me that it can't connect

are pennies that are stamped off center worth anything? I found a 1988 that about a quarter of the rim is missing directly to the right of lincoln's head. The date and everything else is there. I would post a pic, but I can't seem to get it on right now.

Slightly off center cents while interesting do not have much of a premium attached with them.

do what you can to get a pic posted of your coin.

You can have a look at the scans of my recent post on the subject and compare to see if yours are as worthless as mine:

Sounds more like a clipped planchet, with the "about a quarter of the rim is missing directly to the right of Lincoln's head."

Sounded to me like The post was talking about an off center strike (are pennies that are stamped off center worth anything? )

without pics sometimes its hard to tell what is actually up with the coin !!

Is the reverse centered correctly? If it is centered, that was caused by misaligned dies. If the reverse has a thin rim as well, it is not enough for it to be considered off center- the rim has to be broken with and a blank planchet area has to be present. Either way, it is just a numismatic curiosity with no value over face.

the back is centered. on the front you can see where the rim just sort of runs off the edge. I have another one like it. on the top the >in god we trust" is right at the edge. back is ok.

Mike:
It sounds like you have a misaligned die. This is a common error, little or no additional value (above face).
Sorry.

Misaligned die strike, and rather common. I agree with TreasHunt.
