cant tell from the photo (better than what I can do) but it looks like shelve doubling to me.. But in the same respet being a hand punched mintmark( I believe) I would assume that the first strike was weak and on the second strike He moved the punch a little

That is a cool find,Rick. Looks like the same type doubling as the 1938 D/D Buffalo.

Looks like Strike Doubling, or also called shelf doubling. But, the strange part is that there should be some doubling on the date, so it could be an RPM.

It's 1953D-1MM-001. or CONECA RPM#1. Decent find, although not very scarce.
