To pay for a box of stick pens with a five spot. I got back all the modern clad junk in change, and this: a typical greasy-gray VG-F 1943-P Jefferson War Nickel. No non-collector ever believes that this coin, as greasy as it looks and disgusting to the touch as it is actually has nearly 2 grams of silver! It's been awhile since I got FV silver not from roll hunting, so it was a good day. I want to get a Henning nickel back in change next.

A find like that makes for a great day! My wife works for a school cafeteria and I have her look for silver for me. She's found quite a lot the latest being a silver proof S.Carolina quarter a couple of months ago!

Great find.

I picked up 20 rolls of Canada nickels from the bank last week and, found one of those too.
Rest in Peace
