well I had a few minutes to burn before the football games today so I drove to the coin show that is about 2 minutes from my house. I figured I would grab some silver around spot. This is what I grabbed Barber quarters I don't have a running set of these yet only 8 in total, but slowly grabbing some cheap 1908 O Good (my first O mint coin!) 1912 Good+ 1916 Very Good (duplicate but an upgrade) SLQ quarters which once again no set started but just grabbing cheap ones slowly I now have 4 1926 S Good+ washington silver quarters 1958 BU X2 I needed one, but I couldn't let the other BU go for the price Walking Liberty half dollars1942 Very Fine 1944 D Fine+ 1945 extra fine Now as far as prices 5.50 for quarters and 11 dollars for the halves I will try and upload pictures later with the new camera I just bought my girlfriend on black friday. What site do you all use that lets you have that really nice big picture that can be popped out? Next coin show is in a few weeks. I will be spending a bit more on silver here while it is low. I was going to buy some franklins too, but the design just doesn't do anything for me, it seems so plain. Edited by googoo 11/27/2011 8:43 pm

Very nice for scans. They look original too. Nice! I have to complete my Barber dime Dansco. I have about 25 so far.

Nice scores.
How often are there shows in your area? Unfortunately we only have a show around here once a year.

there are 2 coin shows around me (within 10 minutes from my house) every month. The next one is in a week I think, so I think I will be going back to this guys table and grabbing about 5 franklins and I think there were a few more walking liberties and quarters around the melt value of 11 dollars for halves and 5.50 for quarters. I like filling holes, especially from old sets for melt. The grades of the coins aren't terrible to me either. As a 21 almost 22 year old living on his own, I can't pass these coins up. I find it a little harder to spend money on coins I can find from circulation like Roosevelt dimes, washingtons and JFKs unless they are in stunning BU condition but as far as the classic coins, I'll take some of those at melt any day of the week thanks. There might still be a few more BU roosevelts I haven't snagged and a few mercs as well that I might grab next time. As far as the surfaces, they don't appear to be cleaned at all to me. The franklins he has look a bit strange, but I think that is just because they are circulated and don't have much detail in them as it is. I'll post again in a few weeks with my classic purchases Thanks for reading GOOGOO

I can still remember back to the days when I would buy au/bu slider walkers for $10.00 each in the 1940's date range. Now this wasn't too long ago ok maybe late 80's-early 90's man I did have a nice looking set.
Very nice original looking coins! I say you did well. I will have to check around my area for local coin shows. I think there is one coming up in Jan here near Pittsburgh Pa.

Quote: I like those prices! That was the first thought that popped into my head. I wonder how the coin dealer was making any $ on them.

I wish there was a monthly coin show here, rather than the 2 a year split between the local 2 clubs.
