What is something like this worth in the condition it's in? It was taken out from an ANACS holder to put in my father's type set folder.

I'd want it in a certified holder only, broken out it does not have any guarantee of authenticity. If real maybe $500-800 is possible.

Numismedia has a VG8 listed for $5,190 which is always a little on the high side. You have to knock it down some for the corrosion and scratches. I would bet you can get around $1,000 for it. I am not an expert at all so let's wait and see what other people think.

Wow, thats an amazing piece. Just think of where its been!
Based on Numismedia I'd say $2,000

Tough coin. Pretty corroded but given it's current condition, still looking at $2000-2500.

Wow ... not everyday we see one of those!

If it were mine ... and I wished to sell ... I'd get it back in a TPG slab for authentication purposes.

Agreed this is likely a $2K coin if genuine.

I guess I was a bit low found a link to one at DLRC Auctions that sold in the $1400 range; http://www.davidlawrence.com/invent...lotid/782528

Larry Briggs has one for almost $4K!
http://larrybriggsrarecoins.com/ind...duct_id=1141

And one sold at the HA Auction at FUN 2008 for $1450.00

So I retract my lowball price guess and say with both corrosion and scratches it's a minimum $1k coin.

I like the color on this one, especially on the face and leaves, very nice coin.

That's a great coin. Somehow it looks as if it aged gracefully. I have several oldies that are really beat up but none that are as rare as this one. I call them my survivors and I really enjoy them!
