I'm not certain if the die crack through part of the date shown on the 1950 half dollar below, qualifies as the 'hoof through date' variety. Please let me know, thanks!

That's a nice die crack, staircase, but it's only a die crack, a hoof through date you can clearly see part of the hoof.

Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated. I didn't realize that, other than '46 and '49, the hoof had to actually overlap into or onto the last digit of the date. From 1938 to 1945, and 1951 to 1953, a similar metal deposit must be present?

This is what I like to see, more pics of die cracks,chips,etc., keep them coming guys.


pginrh, I'm guessing your pic is a die chip with a die crack, very nice.
