"The shop is doing no business except selling show merchandise"

So no pawned items to buy?

No unique items or old antiques or collectibles like they buy on the show?

Sounds like Daytona beach, minus an ocean being replace by sand and three big boned fellows as the main attraction instead of cute gals in skimpy swimsuits....

"Tshirts, hoodies, bumper stickers, bobble heads, snow globes, air fresheners, shot glasses, you name it."

So basically crap/junk, which costs little to produce, and sells to tourist big time. You even knew they had 1 or 2 bucks in the shirts, but you were on vacation spending cash more freely then normal just like I would or anyone else with the means, and you got a cool story an souvenir so all party's win....

I would like to go out there an check it out, bet it would be a blast. And I agree with your scripted theory or way of looking at it. It is just T.V., made for just entertainment, nothing more nothing less. No need to take it too seriously. Wrestling fans even know it is scripted, or like 98 percent. Out of the remaining two, one of them just took one too many pile drivers in the basement with their friends while wrestling, and the other is just in pure denial.....

I will say MPC 9 oz. roughly 14,750 in one day is not a total loss.....

Still if they average that for whole season it is barely enough to break even, all 6 could get jobs in some of the mines there and easily make more money than that.

Anyway I have feeling they are running out of gold in the area they are mining.

Silverhawk74, I guess we should have started our own Pawn Stars thread? Oh well, we've already polluted this one. lol

They have tons of stuff for sale, all the stuff from the show. $100,000 Superbowl ring. Original artwork. Only coins I saw were a pile of cull Morgans for $50 a piece. Why would they want to sell anything else aside from junk to us tourists? Even the last time I was there at 9pm on a Sunday, there was a steady line of ~20 people, two registers going.

Figure average cashier takes 2 minutes to ring somebody out, 30 / hour, 2 cashiers, average sale $20, cost of goods 1/4rd of retail. That's $900 an hour in gross profit. Every hour. They are open 24/7/365.

Its all good Silvereye, I started this thread anyway, and anyone who knows me well can attest to the fact that I am not truly happy, if I am not jumpin subject tracks, lol....

Glad they do have the coins and other items from the show. I bet that ring he priced at 100 grand is the the Patriots ring they bought recently for like 21 grand. And was from the win over the Eagles, via back to back an like 3 out of 4 years seems like....

Didn't they figure their operational cost was $1000 a day?

Not for retail. At night, they have something like a drive up window.

Yeah I also get chuckle out how they are expecting their mined gold to sell at spot price...

I wonder if they kept the gold from the show and put it on Discovery's web site for $999 a half ounce in a labeled "Gold Rush Gold" tube, if they could get 40 or more people to buy and make more profit than selling to a typical gold shop?

Its not Canada Big byte, but it should be. Of course uncle Sam would not want anyone else in control of all that gold an oil, so that probably never even was an option lol....

In another thread someone said Pawn Stars put out bullion silver every morning and it's gone by a little after noon.
