Just chatted with a US Mint customer service rep. I was told the matter was escalated to management and that I will hear from them. Here's one hoping...

Hopefully they just send the proper card! Not have a return and resend it.

Well, unfortunately, I have to return everything now - not just the incorrect certificate, but also the coins. Just plain stupid...

That is plain stupid. WHY? How hard is it to just send a loyal customer a couple pieces of paper?

Somehow I thought that's how they would do it. So stupid and waste of paying shipping.

Yes, I wonder too. I'm sure many won't notice until it's too late to do anything about it. Well, UPS have picked up the coins and I guess by the end of next week I will have received my replacements. Judging by my luck, I'll probably get the correct coins & COA, but most likely milk-spotted coins or damaged ones. I was happy with the ones I had...

Just to give two examples of more pleasant experiences with government mints:
1. Royal Mint: I purchased a few Peter Rabbit coins last year but 2-3 months later noticed that 3 out of 5 had no COA. I emailed customer service with my order reference asking for COAs and about a week later I was mailed three replacement COAs (most likely from returned or damaged coins).
2. Perth Mint: I purchased a bunch of the Back to the Future coins which were released with a car model with lights. Again, 2-3 months later I noticed that the lights were not working in one model due to a production error. I emailed customer service about the possibility of obtaining a replacement and was sent a replacement model without having to return the damaged one.

In both instances it was clearly my fault for not checking everything in a timely manner, but both mints excelled in their customer service. If they would have said "sorry, no, you're too late" I would have had only myself to blame. But gladly not every 'company' is like the US Mint. There are worse though...

It's sad that foreign mints are doing a better job than our own. I like how The Royal Mint often puts in strips of paper indicating who final inspected the coins. Meanwhile, our mint has no final inspection. :(

When that happens (packaging issues), or when issues prevent a timely inspection of the item I just order another one. When that arrives I just return the first one on the 2nd invoice with "changed my mind" as a reason

Obviously only works when an item is available

It doesn't happen very often but it does work

Moultrie starting the countdown...99 left

17,048 at last count

Edited to add: Hmmm maybe not. Seems EVERYTHING is now limited to 99

Yep, I noticed the same thing earlier this week. A good move if that is their intent.

In any case, it seems like that according to the US Mint the world will end on May17 - their schedule is in desperate need of updating...

Well I just received my Frederick Douglass Puck from the mint today. It had the correct inserts in it but is probably going back to the mint. I highly doubt what you see is any kind of striking issue. It looks like this thing hit the floor.

Please tell me what you think.
