Foreign Coins In Quarter Machine - Coin Community Forum

Uhhhh Valued Member United States 117 Posts	Posted 12/07/2011 1:46 pm I was out at a store last night and happened to see a kiddie quarter machine with foreign coins in it. I haven't used one in so long, I didn't know stuff had gone up to 50¢. I had 50¢ in my pocket and asked the cashier to exchange a dollar for quarters. These are the coins I got. (Btw.. apologies to Don @ http://(131231) Not Allowed - Auto-Removed / for the stock coin pictures because I didn't feel like scanning them.) Bulgaria - 2 Stoninki (2000) Great Britain - 1/2 New Penny (1971) Thailand - 1 Baht (2008?) I think this is a pretty neat idea. Hopefully it'll get some kid into collecting. Every couple weeks I roll quarters with those tube things while watching the news (mosdef coin collector). Maybe $600 per month. You can pick out silver, maybe five quarters a year by checking the edges before dumping them into the plastic tube. United Arab Emerates 1 Dirham, which are not clad, come up maybe 2x per year. No idea what the exchange rate is, though I would bet a dirham is less than 25c. Report this Post to the Staff
