Hi guys. I am trying to look for a placemat for my coins. Something that would allow me to put the coins on the table without any worry about damaging them. I have been looking at various stores and have not really seen anything. Anyone have any suggestions?

I'm not sure I understand what you're looking for. Do you just want to protect coins while you're working with them. I use old towels when I'm sorting and searching. But I never leave them there for very long.

You could buy jeweler's boards that have the velvet on them (in fact the coin & bullion dealer I go to uses them) or some of that non-slip shelf liner.

Towels are the best choice. They are soft and easy to clean.

No point in spending money on something specific when you can simply use a towel or two.

I use clean towels to work. Lay the whole thing out on the table to make sure I don't accidently drop anything. You might try looking for some felt/velvet at a crafts store. I know they sell stuff like that by the yard. Then you could get a board and glue or staple it on if you were looking for something like that.

I use a mouse pad -- 1/4" thick with a soft fabric top in a solid color.
