[I have a 1894 S Morgan. It is an overdate. The tail of the 9 goes all the way up and touches making it appear to be an 8.
I can't find this coin in any book. Does anyone know its worth?
I would grade it fine

Very doubtful it is an overdate, the 9 was closed on many of them. http://www.vamworld.com/1894-S+VAMs has a list of all varieties known, no overdates exist - yet.

One gradded F-12 would be worth about $50-75 today. It is a semi key date in the series.

Most likely just a die chip closing the bottom loop of the 9. The mint tended to have a problem with that.
