I am thinking about getting a new Magnifier to help take pictures of my smaller coins. Does anyone have and use one of these?

Sounds like a good deal to me. I think the free one I have is only 2x.

One thing though, those glasses are usually curved, which means you probably won't be able to photo a whole coin well. Take a look at my photo and you'll see how the ends are a little blurry.... that's why.

Don't know if you go to flea markets but around here I've seen so many of those things at flea markets and for only a few dollars. You may want to check out if they are made in China and if they have plastic lenses. Not that there is anything wrong with warped, plastic lenses though.

Just got back from my Sunday tours of the flea markets. One lady had so many different types of magnifing glasses it made me wonder why. She said she sells at least 50 a day. Cheapest one was $0.50 and the most expesive was $10.
