Title nearly says it all.

I began cleaning up my collection the other day trying to pare it down (I've started a sell/trade thread in the forums). One of the trades I aggreed on required me to get together 17 different cello'd nickels.

While doing that I realized I had a BUNCH of Kennedy halves in cello's.

So... today on my way home from work I stopped off and bought a Dansco 8166 (Kennedy with Proofs). When I got home I started plugging in the holes.

Although I think it was an impressive start, I thought I had more of the set than I actually did.

Out of the 160 holes I filled in 42 with MS coins.

Looks like I've got something else to work on.

I'm on that bandwagon also. I started collecting the proofs and lo and behold I had 20% of a collection. Now I'm filling out an Intercept Shield album.

That's how I realised that I had managed to get a complete type set of Canadian nickels, except the tombac beaver. This was the only coin I really went looking for, to complete the set.

I also have a nearly complete set of 20 Centimes and 2 Franc sized coins of the
Latin Monetry Union.
All of the coins mentioned (except the tombac beaver), came out of dealers' junk boxes more than 20 years ago. All coins are VF or better.

Can't find these in junk boxes these days!

I started to save all the impaired profs I found CRH halves and now find that I'm almost to a full set of proofs 71 on!

I may just have to break down and get an album, like you...

Building a set can be fun. Try going by banks and asking for face value rolls. You'll be surprised how many nice Kennedy halves you will find. Sometimes you'll find silver too :) Happy searching.

good luck with the set
I also suggest grabbing halves from the bank. I have filled my album up with AU/BU coins pulled right from bank rolls.
I was surprised at how many halves are still in that great of shape seeing how they are so big and have suck a large area to get nicked and dinged up
