I found a 1948 Canadian silver dollar at my local coin shop. It is listed as AU. I am not sure about the grade but it does look pretty good to my eye. They are asking $1,300 for it. Is that a very good price? How much would you pay for one.

$1300 is about normal dealer asking price for such a coin.

it trends for 1500 CAD so as long as it is not a copy and it truly is AU it is a good price

Great price if it's real., there are starting to be quite a few counterfeit ones showing up, so watch, what you are paying big bucks for.

Well, I went in the the coin shop after work today and I was going to buy it. Was in there for like 5 or 10 minutes and somebody got it before I did. Some one said he was another dealer who sells thing online. Blah.
