So I read in one of the topics about a coin to flip and play with. What do you guys use to flip and what would you recommend.

I don't know the specific topic you're referring to but not being from the US I've no idea. If you use coins for magic tricks I've always assumed it's a silver dollar for maximum effect. Back in Britain in my youth for games like heads or tails or in Australia for 'two's up' good old pre-decimal one penny coins did the job.

...or are you refering to buying a (misidentified and at a good price) coin and "flipping" (selling) it for profit? Kinda like "flipping a house"?

I assume he means to either flip to call "heads or tails" when deciding something or else just flip up and down to look like you just starred in a production of "Guys and Dolls."

I prefer a coin with "two heads" => but only if I'm the guy that gets to call it in the air!

Over the years there have been numerous different coins made just for flipping. The pig one already shown was one of the more popular ones some time back. Another popular one was of a lady, complete front on one side and complete rear on the other. Aside from magicians coins, a two sided head or tails also was popular for flipping. Some were political with a candidate's head on one side and a donkey or elephant on the other. A friend of mine some time back had a sort of collection of them and just gave them all away.

Googling for that one right now! It's on ebay now for $1.99. Better than I remember too.

I can't think of the last time I flipped a coin for any reason. Interesting.

Australian soldiers during WW1 played 'TWO UP' with Edward V11 British pennies and folk lore has it that they were the best coins in the World for 'flip 'n toss' gambling games.
Even today, when TWO UP is officially illegal, is allowed to be played in registered Clubs by returned soldiers, on ANZAC DAY, 25th April.
