Snagged this off ebay. I think it's contemporary, and a coin which was Uncirculated when placed in the holder. Not where I expected to find a 1922-D. It's got machine marks, so here is where it stays.

Very nice!

Definitely the rare instance where you buy the coin and the holder.

LOL jbuck.

Appears to have a nice woody grain reverse as well.

Nice find.

Nice find, shame they damaged the coin putting it in.

Dig around long enough, there's some neat stuff out there. I've seen svdbs in either an elongated or good luck piece. At one point, I had a Bust half (1818?) elongate from the Columbian Expo.

Hindsight is 20/20.

I posted about an 1885 nickle that was on ebay that was elongated at the 1892 Columbian Expo. I guess at the time it as just a 7 year old nickel found in change in your pocket
