Soooo ... part time cent roll searcher here ... just finished my 10th box and am writing to report my find rates.

Keep in mind that I live outside Baltimore, MD ... so the majority of my cents are Philly mint (more on that ratio later) ... good news I suppose for those in search of varieties.

Overall Find Rates:

I have pulled 6,401 copper ... a find rate of 25.60%

I have pulled 95 Wheaties ... a find rate of 0.38%

1982 Copper versus Zinc:

I weigh all my 1982 (and my 1983 as well ) ... and report the following:

665 of 758 total 1982 LMC have been copper ... a copper ratio of 87.7%.

682 of those 758 total 1982 coins have been Philly mint ... so using that date as a proxy I am finding approx 90% Philly coins and 10% combined branch mint coins here in Maryland USA.

Wheaties:

The 95 total Wheatie finds are distributed by decade as follows:

Teens - 1
1920's - 1
1930's - 8
1940's - 35
1950's - 50

Other Fun Finds:

Pulled a single impaired proof .... in this case a 1985-S

Found an 1895 IHC with old PMD ... shared a photo here:

Found four total 1998 WAM. We had some fun when I sponsored a freebie to give away three of them:

Alas ... have not heard from harrison2 ... hoping his WAM finally made it to Mexico?

Soooo ... there you are. I'm enjoying my occasional cent roll searches and extend to all best of luck in your individual roll search endeavours.

Hi Nickelsearcher,

I'm taking a short break from nickels and picked up a box of Lincolns from the bank to occupy any spare time I might find over the Christmas weekend. I've only gone through half of the box so far and mainly just looking for wheats and whatever catches my eye.

So far, I'm happy with a 1919-S, 1944, 1971-S and a 1972-S. The 1919-S is pretty sharp and looks like a VF-20 and much nicer than the one I purchased for my Dansco!

Amazing what can still be found in bank rolls!

Hiya nickelsearcher (and everyone). I am through my 5th box of cents and my hit rates are very close to yours across the board. Not near my records at the moment but if I think of it when I get home I'll post mine for comparison.

And Radarcoin, yes, it is amazing what's still out there waiting to be found. :)

Merry Christmas y'all! :)
