I'm looking to pick up 20oz or so of silver and was checking prices on Provident, 20 ASEs are about $40 more than 2 10oz NTRs. Do the ASEs command enough of a premium over the NTRs to justify the difference?

In my opinion, and it's just my opinion, no. You also have a premium on bars depending on the company and size. The ASE premiums will also vary with the mintage. If you just want silver, stay with the ingots or bags of 90% coins. I read somewhere, the best value is in bags of Morgans. Just my opinion though.

Generally the premiums follow the product. What I mean when you sell your ASE you will get more per oz than the bars, thus it should be a wash on premiums. I said generally I am sure there are people who just unload and don't shop selling price.

Personally I find Maples a better value than ASE's. Of course if you just want silver bars are just a good.

Morgans are a good idea but then again there are more fake morgans than ASEs

Depends on how you want to unload. ASEs cost more but like mkfarm said, you'll recover the premium when selling. NTRs are relatively new and it seems like there's not a lot of demand for them versus other more well know bars. However, if you plan on hopping over to the nearest pawn shop or PM dealer and just unloading by weight, the lower the premium you can find when you buy is obviously the better.

Just to add to what everyone else said... ASE are, I think, in much higher demand. Everyone knows their value and is the bullion standard here in the states.

I think they will be much easier to all, but I don't think the bars would be overly difficult to sell either.

But as far as selling, people always talk about selling with the coins premiums, but the ebay fees pretty much remove the premium, and dealers are prob gonna take a little under spot regardless lol

Right on, MK! Maples are usually $0.50-0.70 cheaper than ASEs. While that does not seem like a lot per coin, buy 200 or more at a time and it adds up.
