I've got a 66' mint set and have checked out some ebay auctions for them over the past few months and can't really nail down a going price for them. It seems that I've seen prices go for $60 and then a similar condition (packaging) set will start @ $30 and go with no bids.

I was wondering if anyone can give a reasonable value of this year set?

Thanks kindly

2012 McDonalds give current retail price as $80.
ebay prices can vary a lot. That's why it is worth checking completed item price carefully before bidding and being patient for another, similar item to come along if the one you are interested in looks to be going too high.

I would say $45 to $50 is a realistic price for a standard carded set. There are several different 1966 sets and some are worth a lot more. An "operation fastbuck" wallet (if it came on the market) would probably fetch $1500 or more -only about 70 of those made. ebay is not a likely place to see a fastbuck wallet sold.

Check this one out http://www.ebay.com/itm/1966-Austra...em35b7ffc4dc.

Hi Erkle,
Another one to look for is the BP 1966 decimal souvenir wallet. Although these have started to creep up in price.

They bought new coins to assemble the sets so it can sometimes be a cheap way to get an uncirculated 1966 set.

Don't get a 1966 pre-decimal BP set. They are just any old circulated coins they bought from the bank.

40-45 seems to be about right, unfortunately though you will only have US collectors bidding (due to shipping) that will rule out a fair portion of your target market.
