Hi guys...thanks to everyone for being really welcoming! here are some pics of some things in my collection....just wondering if any of them were particularly rare? (p.s I have ordered a copy of Mcdonalds coin book so I will stop bothering you all when I get it ) x 2

VERY NICE and if you've taken the time to do all that I think you've answered your own question It doesn't matter if it's rare or not and one day you just never know

You have a very nice collection....nothing particularly rare but I agree with Ausjack, coin collecting is not only about the value of the coins but also about the amount of enjoyment they give you

The 1 dollar note is probably the "best" of what you've shown so far, in terms of collector value above face/melt. It's Phillips/Randall signature (1969-1972 series) and appears to be in pristine condition; my old Renniks (2009) lists it at retail $85 in Unc, $55 in aUnc.
Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis

When you get your catalogue ikiriki, in your head, revalue everything at about 60% of what the book says to give you a better indication of an item's value.

I agree with coin man Tim, 60% is a good rule of thumb in most cases but there are lots of exceptions (don't get me started on those darn books again!) for example the latest maccas has lunar series 1 1/2oz silver proofs all listed at $30 (from memory, don't have it here with me)
Take me to the shop with those prices any day of the week!

sorry to hijack the thread there... normal service resuming...
Nice collection! like others have said, it's the enjoyment that your collection brings you that is important. Collect what you like. Over time, try to develop a theme or some overall meaning to your collection as a whole. good luck and have fun!
