Hi guys How come (except for new coins) all pictures of King coins, they were facing to the LEFT and pictures of Queens faced to the RIGHT...

they alternate, Vicky left, Ed VII right, George V left, Etc.... ad naseum

George Dad and George Lad both faced the same direction Some say in deference to Edward VIII who would have faced right Others say the younger George did not like his profile facing right and demanded that his portrait should show the part in his hair

Actually, I think on the few coins minted that had Edward VIII on, he them faced right, so having George V and George VI facing left just continued the normal alternating progression.

Coins for Edward VIII have him facing left,he was actually the vain one.Because Edward was never officially crowned as king there was pressure for George to face right on coinage as many wanted it to be as though Edward had never been King.

I just looked it up and you are correct. Edw VIII faced left on the British patterns. My mistake.
