http://www.kptv.com/story/16456519/...lary-suspectA good ending story for the most part, seems like the theft victim will get more than 90% of his collection returned. The thieves didn't know what they had and dumped the whole collection into a Coin Star machine for about $450.00 and then took the rejected silver quarters to a bank (who is returning the quarters) for $125.00 face. Moral - don't keep valuable collections and small safes in outdoor sheds - (duh)! The story did not say if the small safes have been recovered, they contained silver and jewelery, the coins it sounds like were in albums which were emptied. Hope they find all the coins stolen and they aren't too damaged from this ordeal. "Buy the Book Before You Buy the Coin" - Aaron R. Feldman - "And read it" - Me 2013! yeah, I was just going to make a comment about that. I don't know what good getting those back at this point would be.
Also, you have to be a brain dead moron to go to the bank with a hundred bucks or so worth of silver quarters to cash in and not expect to get caught. then again, you have a to be a brain dead moron to steal from people.
judging by the stupid look on his face, I'd say he probably barely passed whatever it is they call 9th grade these days.

Guess that son's inheritance got a little smaller... SO....you're telling me that the way to get into coin-star machines and search for rare coins, is to dump part of a collection in there? And the police will even help me search for rare and valuable coins?

Wow.. What an idiot... Did that to his own father too. What puts the icing on the cake is he robbed himself in the process too. Can kiss that inheritance goodbye!
