Found another set of quarters coming next week. This was in the MacLean's January 16th, 2012 edition.

@ SilverBug, so does that mean you won't be giving me the $ 12,000 I need? Damm. I mean, I'd let you look at the coin and everything. Oh well, maybe next time. @Lithanial, The quarters in the photos, those are the ones found in the 2012 sets. If only the mint would sell them all 5 together, in a small display box, in color, for around $ 20.

I'd love to spend 12k just to have a look at or maybe hold in hand this masterpiece! but unfortunately it's sold out already. I'm not sure whether I will have this kind of spare cash next time...

@SilverBug, you are in luck. The coin is not yet sold out. You can still "Add to Cart"

I'd like to get one, then return it because of this nasty, heavy frosting on the relief. That would get their attention.

I received my new coins today; gold Bluenose, proof dollar and the specimen set. My opinions - always worth what I'm paid for them: The silver dollar is less than great; not a fan of this one. The three figures look ok with nice detail but the background does not. The double dated speciman loon dollar is very nice. But the Bluenose is spectacular. Very nice image on this little one.

Do you have a picture/scan of the Bluenose? How fine is the frosting this year?

Quote: Do you have a picture/scan of the Bluenose? How fine is the frosting this year? Sorry I don't have a picture/scan but the frosting looks good to me, especially on the reverse. The ship, water and lettering are frosted and make for an excellent contrast especially when magnified. However, the frosting on HRH is on the coarse side of the scale. It is really much nicer in hand than the pictures on mint.ca show.

I can't wait to get my hands on this coin for analysis. Part III published some time ago:

I think you'll be disappointed. While I don't have the other 1/25th coins handy for comparison, the '12 Bluenose is more like the '11 Geese in your picture.

I'm thinking of getting the Bluenose gold coin. Hope to see a real photo of it before deciding, but from the sounds of things, it looks pretty good.
