Two days ago, I decided to make a move into a new collecting direction. The decision was partly prompted by a couple of nice examples I found at Harlan Berk. So, I emailed an inquiry to the World Coins Numismatist at HJB.

Now, Harlan Berk is co-sponsor of the Gemini Auctions, along with Freeman & Sear. Their latest effort, Gemini III, was on January 9th at the New York International Numismatic Convention, the largest World and Ancient show of the year in the US. So, needless to say, HJB's World Numismatist would have been as busy as a one-armed paperhanger on that day.

That was the day I emailed her. She found the time to answer my questions, and close the deal (mind you, I spent less than $500), including one email during the actual auction.

It speaks for itself, doesn't it?

Excellent service!

Yours and other previous posts like it are the reason I have Harlan Berk bookmarked on my computer now. He has some great looking coins, and I imagine I'll be buying from him sometime within a few months.

I have had quite a few dealings with them. They are a top notch operation. I had one order where they sent me the wrong items. I called them and talked to a woman, cant remember here name, very nice, she overnighted the correct items. She even threw in 5.00 for shipping the other ones back. One order she called me and said the coin that I had purchased had some problem with it and she didn't want to sell it. I picked a different coin and she threw in a 2006 ASE for the hassle. Didn't know about it till I received it. No hassle for me but it was appreciated. Fantastic company.

when I placed my first two orders with HJB the coins had already been sold at the store front that very same day and the woman who had to email me and apologize to me each time was one of the nicest people I have ever communicated with through anyones customer support. She even talked to her boss and he ok'd that the next 5 shipments I ordered would get free priority shipping since this had happened to me twice and I guess they was scared I would just go elsewhere (which was never my intention because their name speaks for itself) But I have had to talk to customer support at least 3 more times for various reasons (none related to a bad transaction, just inquiry about other coins) and have always walked away with the feeling of satisfaction about how their emails were handled

I've looked at the Harlan Berk site before based upon SuperDave's highly recommending them. Tonight I took a longggggggg look at what they have to offer and I'm hooked! The recommendations and experiences shared in this thread have me totally convinced now to purchase from them. Thanks everyone!
