Hello All! I do not remember how I became the guardian of this coin, but obviously something is very wrong with this 1947-S Lincoln Memorial cent. I don't think this is a case of PMD, but I am of-course, no expert by any stretch of the term.

Your thoughts please!

Below the "US" in "TRUST" is lamination. I do not know if the rest of that area is related to lamination or PMD.

It is a lamination peel or delamination coin. The lamination runs in a straight line across the rim and peels of the rim at one point. The other areas are stains.

Thank you! Is there anything in particular I should do with this coin or any certain way it should be protected?

You can put it in a mylar flip or a cardboard 2x2.

There are also air tite sealed holders to put it in and that is the best option, but also the most expensive. I'm not sure how valuable that error is, but I have seen some listings list those types of errors for a few dollars for a copper cent.

Thanks for the tip. I went ahead and stuck it in an air-tite holder. It probably does not have much value beyond being an oddity. I'll probably just put it in the box with the other 'errors' and keep it around for a while as a conversation piece.
