Just picked up a 1918 S Buff Graded AU by ICG

I noticed the bootom loop in the eight was doubled and so is the last one in the date.

Has anyone heard of this error , or is it just a random error ?

Did not see it in the RedBook.

Thanks, John

I agree that a photo would be extremely helpful.

Also, you said "I noticed the bottom loop in the eight was doubled and so is the last one in the date."

?

Isn't that the same thing?

Also....from David Lange's book...

POPULAR VARIETIES: One or more two-feathers varieties exist, though these are typically placed under a single number (FS-1918-401).

One die shows an interesting crack through the date that progressed to become a Retained Cud.

Sorry ladies and gentlemen, I do not have a camera that will allow that close up of a picture.
I had to use my loop to see this. The bottom half of the 8 in 1918 is doubled as well as the number ONE right next to it.
I have heard that minor errors like this are common and add no premium to the coins value ,
just want other opinions..
OPPS ! Yes IGC
Rest in Peace

Howdy buddy! I think you were right the first time with "ICG". What is this "IGC" you speak of SeatedNut?

That is a form of dyslexia encounter by those approaching their golden years. Independent Coin Graders is indeed ICG. If there were a cross-eyed emoticon I would use it here.
