I noodle a lot of bags 0f 20ยข and find one of these for about every $400 (2000 coins). So, not common but not too hard to find eventually.

Not very common from my experience. Without searching bags of 20c pieces, I've only found one since they were released.

On average I find one about every $70 searched. Like Jeff has said 'not common but not too hard to find eventually'.

Over the years I've accumulated (and sometimes sold) a lot of these. They are worth around $1-$2 in circulated condition at the moment but they have been a high as $15 a few years back. I doubt they will ever get they high again but I hope they do as I have hundreds of them!

I found my first one today. To be honest I stopped looking for them after not getting one originally but after reading this thread I gave it a shot and found one. Also found the 88 pictured next to it in the same $4 armaguard bag

i have read some earlier topics about the 88 20c and it seems like a few people have found them. Best noodle bag ever! A wavy 66 and I would have had a heart attack.

1988 is an excellent find. I have plenty of bighead 2004 but have never found a 1988 in circulation. The only one I have from circulation was a swap.
Your one looks almost "new". Maybe it is a mint set coin that got away.

Thank goodness you didn't find one then.

But, if you had I bet the heart attack would have been delayed long enough to post a brag here.

The 88 has some discolouring aroundnthe crown and forhead which is a bit disapointing. Photo is much better than the actual coin. Looked through another $200 of 20c today and didnt get any large head 04. Cant be too common.
