Just a quick head's up to all you Mercury dime lovers out there! on the 18th of January 2012, we will commence the "27 Days of Liberty Head (Mercury) Dimes"!How does this work? On the 18th of January, we all post pictures of our 1916 Mercury dimes! On the 19th, we all post pictures of our 1917 Mercs! (and so on, and so on...) (The exact schedule will be posted soon. Patience, my sons and daughters, I'm travelling and don't have access to all my knowledge!). This is just a HEAD'S UP for you all to get your Mercury dime coin albums from the Safety Deposit Box, charge up your digital cameras, hone your Photo-editing skills, and get ready! Of course, this also gives you time to quickly ebay-acquire your missing Mercs! Let's make this the BEST "Days of..." thread ever!

I wish this went backwards. It would be cool to have the big one to look forward to.

I'm sure this will make some members very happy as they were looking forward to the Mercs. My collection is complete except for the 16D but all were collected from circulation when I was 10 years old in the 50's. This translates into very worn coins.... yawn. Should I even bother posting these?

cipster . . definitely show them. Mine are also all out of circulation from the same time period & I need a lot more than the 16-D but still plan on joining in.

I may have to sit this one out, I would need 152 images to show my set and that's a lot of film and developing. Santa did not provide a digital camera for Christmas.

I plan this weekend to start making pictures. Forum Dad and Forum Mom must have large servers to store all these pictures

I only have one (or two, depending on the delivery of a recent acquisition) for this, but I'll offer what I can.

muddler and anyone else who has the (near) complete set and does not want to post 152 images (76 coins?), post the album page as an image. Sure you will lose some of the detail, but at least your collection would be "seen".

I really need to get some kind of a photography setup going. I have a good camera, but lighting and a tripod are needed. For now all my pics are when the sun is out and I'm holding the camera as still as possible.
