I accidentally posted this in the wrong forum first time around.....apologies

Hello All

and thanks in advance for your help, I have been asked to do some research for a friend who inherited this. I pointed out the rub marks on the eagle feathers will seriously impede the grade on this but I'd like an opinion from people with a bit more experience than myself...I was thinking at best an AU but after checking others that may be optimistic?

many thanks

Kevin

Welcome to Coin Community, PrimeCase. I'm thinking EF-AU for this one; 1912's are known for indifferent reverse strikes but if I were held at gunpoint I'd call it EF-45. That will make it of little additional value beyond melt, as these are relatively available in Mint State. Call its' value something around $400.

I agree with XF-AU. It has a great deal of luster remaining despite the wear, which brings up the grade and value. It doesn't look anything like the VF30 in photograde, but that is just my humble opinion. I would value it at $850-$900, as this is a very collectable series. It may even bring more than that on ebay right now...gold is hot despite the drop in price.
